SPORT IS ART - 1st Edition

Pop-up Immersive ART Show

In 2023 Saphira & Ventura continued with their commitment to bringing top-flight fine art to the attention of affluent buyers using cutting-edge technology in a unique presentation.

Sunday, as always, the sport will be art on the court when the New York Knicks take on the Washington Wizards at Madison Square Garden, and this time art will be a sport in the skybox when the edgy NYC art gallery, Saphira & Ventura Gallery, take their most modern, immersive, experiential art exhibition Sport Is Art to Madison Square Garden.

Sport Is Art, the immersive exhibition, features the works of well-known contemporary artists De Kraan, Bari Bing, Joel Douek, Mali Perry, Devon Abbot, Da Rosa, Josh Patterson, Jamie Lee, Juca Maximo, Fabio Polesi, Rene Nascimento Curated by Alcinda Saphira, the impressive digital  production was created by Ellen Oppenheim, Daria Agapitova, and the Video, Erika Fujyama.

In 2023, Saphira & Ventura continued its mission as a leading authority on the interface between design and digital manifestations of art. SVMeta has given artists and NFT creators and their organization’s access to the largest global inventory of flexible gallery spaces available. Sport Is Art at Madison Square Garden is an extension of that mission.

Established in 20TK, the Saphira & Ventura Gallery on East 43rd Street, NYC, is a cutting-edge purveyor of contemporary art, design, architecture, and the metaverse. The Gallery promotes innovative artists, designers, architects, digital art creators, and technology companies in contemporary and alternative settings… like a transfigured Skybox in the heart of Manhattan while the Knicks take on the Wizards not far below. Sport Is Art will continue throughout the year with more dynamic digital exhibitions on the way, but this Sunday…

The future begins now.

Sport is Art - 2nd Edition

Sport Meets Art

and Technology

Kicking off the spring season to an excellent start, New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden featured a rich collection of works by Saphira & Ventura in its first edition of “Sport is Art”, a mixed media experience of the gallery’s dynamic and cutting edge artists. Continuing its torch to a new city, this innovative project now launches its second edition in the Marina da Gloria for the Rio Boat Show 2023 Curated by Alcinda Saphira. The union between athletics and art has been a hallmark of many cities and nations going back to classical ages.

In illustrious maritime cities from New York to Amsterdam, from Venice to Antwerp, art was appreciated and its seaside themes a great element that inspired sailors and cruisers alike. It is with pleasure that the gallery invites guests to the iconic event, which will take place from the 29th of April to the 7th of May 2023 at Av. Infante Dom Henrique, S/N - Glória, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 20021-140.
